We lost the faithful Gib Baily in 2023. His legacy lives on in the many people he mentored and taught over the years, including through the School for Christian Faith and Leadership. Gib was a lifelong member of Grace Church. Following his retirement from the U.S. Department of Labor at the end of 2001, he accepted an offer to fill a newly created position of fiscal officer of Grace Episcopal Church at the end of 2002. In addition to serving as the fiscal officer for Grace Church for 19-plus years, in financial areas he served on the church’s Stewardship Committee for over 45 years and served on the church’s Budget & Finance Committee for nearly 20 years. He worked in the area of budget formulation, budget execution and financial management in his more than 30 years at the U.S. Department of Labor, ending in his career serving for twelve (12) years as Budget Officer for the Office of the Secretary of Labor and as the Financial Manager of the Department’s Departmental Management account.\n
