Shivaun Wilkinson is the associate at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Olney, MD. A graduate from the University of California at Berkeley, she is a transplant to the DC area from California. She served God’s church growing up in the Diocese of Los Angeles and then served as the Youth and Family Minister at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, becoming a founding member of the Diocesan Youth Council in the Diocese of San Diego. After graduating from the Virginia Theological Seminary in 2012, she has spent this first nine years of her priesthood exploring how to craft discipleship paths in parishes, service 3 individual parishes as well as serving as a regional chaplain consulting with parishes on how to build more holistic formation ministries. Her call and passion are intergenerational ministries and simultaneous learning. A mother of four elementary-aged children, she is focused on creating formation ministries that recognize that formation happens every day of the week and the role of the church is empowerment and equipment for individuals and households to go out and do the work they have been given to do.
